Adapt Movement Collective prides itself on physical therapy and the combination of exercise prescription benefits for both injury management, everyday postural awareness and correction, as well as sporting performance. Our team is comprised of Exercise Physiologist’s, who study a degree at university with respect to sports performance/ conditioning, periodisation and other specific techniques, as well as chronic disease management, including musculoskeletal injury. An accredited exercise physiogist is the most qualified professional for exercise prescription when it comes to injury management, sporting performance and chronic disease.
While it is a good idea to come in to complete a one on one session with one of our Exercise Physiologist’s to grade where you are at with respect to core strength, identify any obvious muscular imbalances or postural concerns, it is not mandatory, but will definitely help you get a grasp of the fundamentals before diving into a class environment. If you don’t have any prior health concerns or injuries, and are comfortable coming to a group class you can attend one of our Pilates Reform classes, core essentials or breath and stretch classes to start your journey.
Yes! We offer one on one classes if you’d prefer to work on your concerns and goals in the studio, with that one one one attention. Please contact us to find out more information and book in your session!
While we prefer you to come in to the classes outlined based on what stage you are at within your Pilates practice, we do understand that sometimes class times are not offered when you can make it. We currently only have a maximum capacity for 7 participants in one class, which means we can adjust exercises to an extent to work within your capabilities.
We recommend a minimum of two to three classes per week optimally, to really start noticing an improvement in all facets that the Pilates method offers. We understand that sometimes your time is precious, and you may not be able to get in this many times. Once a week will still reap the benefit’s, just at a slightly slower rate.
